Dean Koontzs' new book "The Husband"

I have been reading the new Koontz book, "The Husband". One paragraph has been on my mind since I read it. I would like your opinion about it.
One character said, " Modesty is related to diffidence. Diffidence is related to shyness. Shyness is a synomyn for timidity. Timidity is a characteristic of the meek. The meek do not inherit the earth, they serve those who are self-confident and
self-assertive."
I see a lot of truth in what it says. Have we been teaching our children the wrong things to get along in the world? We have all seen people with more talent passed over by people of lesser talant. As a child, I was taught to be modest. If you weren't modest you were considered a braggart. Heaven forbid if you expressed an opinion in grammer or high school. If the teacher didn't agree with you, you were in trouble. So you were made content to sit there quietly. Later in life you came out of it but was there still that doubt in the back of your mind.
Please put your comments on the blog. i am very anxious to see them.

Everyone is on the move!!

Well it has been a busy two weeks. We had a great time with visitors and Joe, Lisa, Dan and Dawn and families went on trips.
Joe, Lisa and the boys went out to Colorado for a week. They had a family reunion with Lisa's family. They rented a big house in the ski area. They went white water rafting, rode bikes down mountains and generally enjoyed the mountain scenery.
Kate, Chad and the boys came to visit two weeks ago. They stayed at Joe and Lisa's house. They spent their time at the beaches and in Busch Gardens. The boys really enjoyed having a pool in the back yard.
Dan, Dawn and the boys went up to New York about two weeks ago. They stayed in Riverhead with Dawns' Mother. They went to the beaches up there. They said the water was cold. They are too used to the water down here, where the water is like a warm bathtub. They visited Dawns' grandfather who lives in Rhode Island. They also visited JoAnn and Augie. They took a trip into Massapequa and saw the old neighborhood. They had hamburgers at All American. The boys thought it was great!! On the way home they visited Margie and Hank. They are on their way home right now. We just had a call from them passing Richmond.
Jean, Harry and Colin were in town last week. They came down to visit Justin and to see us. They stayed in a condo on Boyington Beach. We went down to visit them for a couple of days. The condo was very nice and about a block from the beach. There was a great firework show on the 3rd. We watched it from the beach. We all had dinner at Joe and Lisa's on Saturday. Matt came over with Bonnie.
